Danielle Lewis, Professional Triathlete

What was the obstacle that would have kept you from hiring a coach and working with Superfly?:

Finding the right fit

What did you find as a result of working with SuperFly?:
I’ve been working with Adam for nearly 5 years and have experienced very consistent upwards progress. I was newer to triathlon when we started working together, and now I have the opportunity to be competitive on the world stage and that is, in large part, due to his persistent belief in me and his ability to build specific training plans for my needs/goals.

What do you like most about SuperFly?:

Coach Adam cares deeply about the success of his athletes. And not simply success as it relates to results, but working with the athlete to create an environment that helps them reach their goals while enjoying the process and balancing life and family.

Are there any other aspects you really liked?:

Coach Adam continues to evolve with athletes and apply new stimuli to bring them to new levels.

What sports do you do?:

Triathlon

Would you recommend SuperFly to a friend? If so why?:

Of course! A coach is so important if you have unmet goals. Adam is great at working with people of all levels to help them meet those goals.

Is there anything else you would like to add?:

Unexpected turns in my life led me to SuperFly. I was comfortable with my previous coaches and didn't know how much I would benefit by making a change. However, I am beyond grateful for being part of the SuperFly family. My training and racing have gone to another level. My weakness is no longer crippling and my strengths are only getting stronger. Beyond that, I know I am backed by a team that believes in me and that is everything. Adam knows what he is doing. Having done sport for a long time, he is not only familiar with training needed to race well, but he understands the mindset that is needed to be successful. I would recommend SuperFly to any athlete that wants to be successful/improve.

What was the obstacle that would have kept you from hiring a coach and working with Superfly?:

One of the obstacles I faced when trying to decide to work with a coach was the feeling that I wasn’t. “Good enough” to hire a coach , but I’m so glad I decided to reach out to work with Adam.

What did you find as a result of working with SuperFly?:

I was so lucky to have gotten connected to Coach Adam and Superfly. As a result of working with him and super fly I have received over 10 years of consistent support and growth in the sport of triathlon. Adam has continued to help me grow and excel as an athlete with effective science based training principles that work. Not only that Adam is a superb athlete himself and has a wealth of knowledge to share not only training related, but relating to racing, mental strength, and the importance of balancing triathlon and life outside put it.

What do you like most about SuperFly?:

I like the support I have received from my coach! His belief in me has never waned even when I always haven’t believed in myself, but Adam does keep it real— he gives you tough love when you need it and won’t sugar coat things, and I really appreciate that. I want to work hard and be the best that I can be and when you have coach that’s realistic but also motivating that’s the sweet spot.

Are there any other aspects you really liked?:

I like how my coach has contained to grow and learn in the way he programs my training plans. I know that he is always learning new things about the sport and stays informed. My coach has always been there for me and has never left me hanging. His kindness but dedication to his athletes is impressive. There are so many coaches out there that just copy and paste workouts to trainings peaks without any consideration to the athlete they are working with, and this is definitely not the case with Adam! I am so grateful to him!

Would you recommend SuperFly to a friend? If so why?:

Ben Kanute, Professional Triathlete

Adam Zucco (SuperFly Coaching) has played a large role in my development into a professional athlete. I have been with Adam now for about 8 years, and in that time I have gone from just a young triathlete to one of the top US Male triathletes. Writing a workout program is one thing, but the attention to detail and knowledge that he has put into short-term and long-term development plan  has certainly made the difference in my training. And while he already knows a great deal about the science as well as the practical application of training, he is not afraid to seek advice from some of the best minds in the sport. I have been with TrainingBible and Adam for my entire triathlon career, and I plan to continue to use their wisdom to help me have a great 2016 and beyond!

What was the obstacle that would have kept you from hiring a coach and working with Superfly?:

Honestly, I thought my days competing were over. I didn't think I was "good enough" to have a coach. I was concerned whether a coach could truly understand my specific needs and want to coach me, especially given an existing chronic knee issue and the fact that I'm an older female athlete. I was unsure if a coach would have the right approach to balance pushing me without risking injury or my incredibly busy work/travel schedule.

What did you find as a result of working with SuperFly?:

Working with Coach Adam transformed my perspective. He not only understood my challenges but also tailored a program that fit my needs perfectly. I've never experienced any serious injuries from the training—just the occasional niggle here and there, which is to be expected. In fact, I'm stronger now, with improved mobility. Thanks to his guidance, I achieved results I never thought possible. His support has truly reinvigorated my passion for the sport and has proven that age and past doubts don’t define what one can accomplish.

What do you like most about SuperFly?:

As a female athlete in my mid-50s, I appreciate how Coach Adam balances encouragement with a realistic approach, pushing me just the right amount. He’s always amazingly responsive and truly cares about his athletes. The overall fitness level I’ve attained under his guidance is beyond anything I could have imagined.

Are there any other aspects you really liked?:

Can I say everything?!? One of my biggest goals has always been to continue doing triathlons for as long as my body allows, because I truly enjoy what the sport brings to my life. Triathlon is not just about competing—it's about the sense of accomplishment, the fitness, the joy it brings to my daily routine, and the balance it provides for my mental health. Working with Coach Adam has allowed me to not only maintain my passion for the sport but also to thrive in it, achieving results I never dreamed of while staying strong and healthy.

Would you recommend SuperFly to a friend? If so why?:

I've absolutely recommended Coach Adam to other athletes because I trust him. I believe he can help anyone achieve their goals, no matter where they start. As an athlete himself, he has experienced the challenges firsthand, which gives him unique insight into what it takes to accomplish one's goals. Along with his deep knowledge of the sport, he has access to the tools and resources that can elevate his athletes' performance. He is incredibly caring, attentive, and responsive, always providing the support needed to thrive.

Is there anything else you would like to add?:

I'd be remiss if I didn't mention I've been able to secure a podium finish in my age group at a 70.3, qualified for and participating in the 70.3 World Championships, and even landed a slot for Kona. Coach Adam has been instrumental in all of it!

What was the obstacle that would have kept you from hiring a coach and working with Superfly?:

Not knowing where to start or who I should contact to help me. I found Superfly thru word of mouth.

What did you find as a result of working with SuperFly?:

I found a passion for the sport of triathlon.

What do you like most about SuperFly?:

The programming! It is challenging, varied, customizable and most importantly fun!

Are there any other aspects you really liked?:

Adam is a bottomless well of knowledge and experience. There probably isn’t a situation he hasn’t experienced in training or race day and he is willing to share it all. It is an incredible benefit to hear of the mistakes and successes of someone who has been there so you can create a more direct path. Learn on someone else’s bicycle!

What sports do you do?:
Triathlon

Would you recommend SuperFly to a friend? If so why?:

I have and will continue to recommend Superfly to anyone looking to improve and have fun with training for a triathlon. There are a couple options for how much interaction you may want which is great. And no matter the option you choose you get killer programming and access to an extensive knowledge base.

Is there anything else you would like to add?:
In less than 2yrs Adam took me from someone with nearly no experience in a pool, on a bike or distance running over a 10k to an Ironman. If you are willing to commit to the program and trust his process I have no doubt he will help you reach your goals. He coaches a wide range of athletes from casual to pro level but he makes it a point to make you feel like you’re his only client. That is special these days.

What was the obstacle that would have kept you from hiring a coach and working with Superfly?:

The 2 obstacles for me were: - feeling obligated to the coach I had, knowing I was not getting to where I wanted with that coach’s knowledge - Feeling Superfly was to strong of a coach team for my ability at the time.

What did you find as a result of working with SuperFly?:

Stopped getting injured, the need to be consistent, ability to adapt to my schedule, consistency progression in all aspects of fitness.

What do you like most about SuperFly?:

Knowledge and preparation going into every race! Finishing was no longer the mindset, it was believing in your training and always pushing for new PR

Are there any other aspects you really liked?:

Ability to look back at your week, month and year to evaluate progress, address preparation and set realistic goals.

Would you recommend SuperFly to a friend? If so why?:

Absolutely, I had multiple coaches prior to Superfly, the knowledge and experience is unmatched.

Rich Chojnacki

What was the obstacle that would have kept you from hiring a coach and working with Superfly?:

The main obstacle was going through a couple of coaches that simply weren’t the “right” fit . Once I met Adam and we talked for 10 minutes I knew he was the absolute best coach for me

What did you find as a result of working with SuperFly?:

A great , easy to follow , logical process which when applied allowed me to work past prior pitfalls, stay injury free and “grow” in the sport from a position of knowledge and confidence.

What do you like most about SuperFly?:

I started with the SuperFly Squad which was spot on and allowed me to train to my maximum . In 2024 I switched to 1 on 1 coaching relationship with Adam for an upcoming Full Ironman . Adam is very generous with sharing the years knowledge he has accumulated and the extent of personal attention has far exceeded any expectations I could have had going in to 2024. I can’t imagine working with anyone else as a coach. He is simply The Best !

Are there any other aspects you really liked?:

Adam gives a lot of his time back in the form of Q&A’s and get together s with local Tri Teams in my market. He is very generous with his time and truly cares that athletes have a great experience !

Would you recommend SuperFly to a friend? If so why?:

100%. YES !!! From beginner to Pro, Adam is the way to go !

What was the obstacle that would have kept you from hiring a coach and working with Superfly?:

The main obstacle that would have kept me from hiring a coach and working with Superfly was uncertainty about whether a coach in a group coaching experience could understand my fitness goals and help me balance training with my everyday life.

What did you find as a result of working with SuperFly?:

As a result of working with SuperFly in the Squad group coaching setting, I found a great balance of structured training and personal attention. While the program isn’t 100% personalized, the group dynamic adds a sense of camaraderie, and Adam is always quick to respond to individual questions and adapt his advice to each of us. His tailored feedback and support have made the experience feel much more individualized than I expected, and it's been incredibly effective in helping me progress.

What do you like most about SuperFly?:

What I like most about SuperFly is the balance between structured, expert-led training and the flexibility to adapt to each athlete's needs. The Squad setup fosters a sense of community, and even though it's group coaching, Adam makes everyone feel heard and supported. His responsiveness and ability to give personalized feedback within a group setting really stand out. The attention to detail, combined with the encouraging atmosphere, has made training both enjoyable and highly effective

Are there any other aspects you really liked?:

Another aspect I really liked about SuperFly is the comprehensive approach to training. It’s not just about logging miles or workouts; Adam emphasizes the importance of recovery, nutrition, and mental toughness, which have all been game-changers for me. The resources available, like training plans, access to a supportive community, and the wealth of knowledge shared, really make it a well-rounded program. I also appreciate how easily I can integrate the training into my busy schedule, thanks to the flexibility of the program

What sports do you do?:
Triathlon

Would you recommend SuperFly to a friend? If so why?:

I would absolutely recommend SuperFly to a friend. The combination of expert coaching, flexible training plans, and personalized attention within the group setting makes it ideal for athletes at any level. Whether you're new to triathlons or an experienced athlete, the structured guidance and support will help you achieve your goals. Plus, the camaraderie in the Squad creates a motivating and positive environment, making the training process both fun and effective

Is there anything else you would like to add?:

A great example of Adam’s passion for his athletes was when my son decided he wanted to run a half marathon with me. Adam quickly put together a tailored plan to help him prepare for the distance. Although my son was already fit, he wasn’t quite ready for a half marathon. Thanks to Adam’s guidance, not only did he complete the race, but he also ended up outperforming me! It was an incredible and fun experience for both of us

Marcus Scott

What was the obstacle that would have kept you from hiring a coach and working with Superfly?:

probably the cost of 1:1

What did you find as a result of working with SuperFly?:

I was enormously more prepared, both mentally and physically, for the event compared with any previous race I've entered. I was ready for a 140.6 and could not have reached that point on my own. Totally worth the investment I made in coaching.

What do you like most about SuperFly?:

The insight into both the work I needed to do to be ready and how I needed to THINK about the race. The feedback on successful workouts was very motivating too.

Are there any other aspects you really liked?:
Variety of workouts and flexibility when injuries / illness got in the way!

What sports do you do?:
Triathlon

Would you recommend SuperFly to a friend? If so why?:

Yes, because I could not have had the success I had at Roth without your help. I had an amazing day on raceday, but only because I was ready (ENOUGH) for a 140.6

Is there anything else you would like to add?:

I'm coming back for more when I pick a 70.3 I want to attack seriously!

Steve Sides, M.D.

I contacted SuperFly Coaching because I was frustrated with my stagnant marathon times and nagging injuries. Adam Zucco agreed to help. In the first 9 months he erased 40 minutes from my marathon time. He has since coached me through four half and two full ironman triathlons. I have achieved a PR in my last two marathons. Through all of this, I have not had one injury.

Kim Glow

Before hiring SuperFly Coaching, I had only done 1 triathlon, a sprint. I had a new baby and wanted to drop the weight. I was hooked and needed someone to help me get fit, train smart, and help me achieve longer distance races. In 3 years, Tanya took me from a sprint triathlon, to a 70.3 (I’ve now done 3), to a full Ironman! I stayed healthy and was able to balance everything in my life. I am currently sticking to 70.3 races and hope to do another 140.6. I consider myself a novice- there’s so much room for improvement. Besides my husband and son, Tanya is my biggest cheerleader! Balancing a full time job, young child, and husband that travels while training for triathlon isn’t easy, but Tanya is always supportive!

It doesn’t matter where you are at in you triathlon journey, if you want to put it the work Adam will help you grow as a triathlete.

He shares is experience's and background to educates you on all aspects of the sport, physical and mental. Adam has a variety of training plans to set you up for success. I guess one of the main things I like about Adam is that he is real. He is positive, motivating and works hard for his athletes. This makes me want to work hard and hold myself accountable.

What was the obstacle that would have kept you from hiring a coach and working with Superfly?:

Superfly is that great option , you should try them out.

What did you find as a result of working with SuperFly?:

I had the pleasure of working with Superfly. Adam Zucco was my triathlon coach, and I couldn’t be more satisfied with the experience. Adam guided me through training for two full Ironmans, and the results were incredible. During my time with Superfly, I noticed huge improvements in both my endurance and overall abilities. His training plans were tailored to my needs and focused on steady, sustainable progress. He didn’t just focus on the physical side of training, either. Adam really understands the mental aspect of preparing for long-distance events, which was key for me in getting through those tough moments. If you’re looking for a coach who’s knowledgeable, experienced, and genuinely invested in your success, I highly recommend Superfly. Whether you’re aiming to complete your first Ironman or you’re striving to hit new PRs, Adam’s the coach you want by your side.

What do you like most about SuperFly?:

One of the things I appreciated most about Superfly and Adam is that he’s someone who practices what he preaches. He knows exactly what it takes to perform at an elite level, but what really sets him apart is his ability to relate to athletes of all experience levels. Whether you're just starting out or looking to refine your skills, Adam meets you where you are and helps you push beyond what you think you’re capable of.

Anastasia, P

SuperFly training programs brought a different type of intensity to training. Short work-outs were incredibly challenging but doable.  Longer work-outs still had variety with technique work, drills, and various sets that made time go by more quickly than just going for long rides.  I was able to focus on 1-day at a time and not think about what I needed to do.  I'm not going to lie - some workouts on paper were very intimidating - but I surprised myself by the ability to complete them.  Ultimately, this built trust that I could do what was provided and I continue to set PR after PR.  Officially a Boston Qualifier and Kona Qualifier now!  Good coaches will be honest and help you realize untapped potential or bring you back down to reality if overzealous.  They'll encourage you to toe the line with the BEST ATHLETES AROUND - as competing with the BEST makes you BETTER. There is something to learn from every experience, no matter how successful or heartbreaking it is.

Jonathan Lucenay, CEO

Adam Zucco began coaching me when I was an extremely overweight beginner triathlete in 2009. He taught me how to swim, bike and run and through his expert guidance I completed my first Olympic triathlon in 2009. This is a feat that seemed quite impossible less than 12 months prior. Adam studies his athletes and the most progressive coaching techniques in triathlon and beyond. In my case an extreme level of skill and a deep repository of knowledge was required of the coach. In addition to being a beginner athlete, my limiter is that I am asplenic. If my training load is too high, I will quickly fall ill. If it is too light, I don’t progress. Adam handles this balance with the skill of a professional. Adam gradually developed my fitness and functional strength growing me into an athlete with over twenty 70.3 finishes and 6 Ironman finishes. His work culminated in a Kona qualification in 2013 and a successful Hawaii Ironman in 2014. I recommend that you consider Adam for your highest level of coaching classification.

Eric Glow, P.T.

What was the obstacle that would have kept you from hiring a coach and working with Superfly?:

Before I started with Adam and Superfly I didn’t think I was “good enough” for coaching of his caliber.

What did you find as a result of working with SuperFly?:

I have been incredibly impressed with Adam’s ability to get the best out of me as an athlete. He is very attentive and is not afraid to change things up to get better results. I am racing faster now than I was a decade ago.

What do you like most about SuperFly?:

The Superfly community is authentic. There are members of all ability and skill level but you would never know it. Everyone is very humble, kind, respectful and supportive. We all share the same common bond of working to get better at a sport we enjoy.

Are there any other aspects you really liked?:

Coming from a coaching platform that was internet based and very cookie cutter, I didn’t think I was a good enough athlete to have this level of coaching. My coach took time to learn about me as both a person and an athlete. He listened to my goals and understood the other demands in my life to create a plan that matches both. I have used Adam as a coach for several years. It is rare that I ever repeat a workout. I'm always challenged in new ways and feel like I am getting better as an athlete. His structured approach enables me to continue to build fitness in a sustainable manner.

I was not sure I would like remote coaching, but Adam provides a ton of experience to share with his athletes. He helps you to identify your goals and then provides a realistic plan to achieve them. He knows how to challenge his athletes, and he knows how to keep training fun and interesting. And his enthusiasm for triathlon is infectious.

Matt Woodrow

Adam offers connections to other athletes, coaches, and experts in triathlon. He has an ability to help you learn the why behind certain workouts and the training approach, and he offers unwavering support through some difficult periods. He is committed to my future as an athlete. Adam clearly cares about his athletes, has an immense knowledge base in the sport, and is extremely responsive in communicating with his athletes.

Jose Centeno

Coach Adam got me to PRs in all 3 disciplines in a matter of a few months. The workouts were hard but at the same time just the right amount of intensity. He helped improve my overall swimming, biking and running a lot more than I thought possible. I am really grateful for his help! He really knows what he is doing.
